Plymouth-Canton Little League Softball Divisions

Our Fast-Pitch Softball program is structured to teach girls the fundamentals of the sport while encouraging sportsmanship and building confidence and self-esteem.

PLAY FOR AGES 5 AND 6
Ages 5 and 6 are invited to play CO-ED T-Ball to begin their skills training and fall in love with the game.

6 - 8U Coach Pitch - SOFTBALL
For Players 6-8 Years of Age
Machine Pitch provides players a transition between the educational focus of T-Ball and the more competitive next level, Minors, where players pitch.  This division plays with modified T-Ball rules to allow for continued skill development and a smooth transition to player pitch. Ten players are fielded each inning and a team is at bat for three outs or five runs. Each team will play approximately 12 regular season games in the spring and consist of 11-12 players. Games schedules involve inter-league play. The fall season will play approximately 8 games.

8 - 10U Minor Division - SOFTBALL
For Players 8-10 Years of Age
The Minor division gives players the chance to continue their skills development through player pitching. This division continues to focus on more advanced techniques and strengthening skills in a competitive environment. Each game will be officiated by two umpires.  Players in the Minor division will play approximately 12 regular season games in the spring and consist of 11-12 players.  Game schedules involve inter-league play.  The fall season will play approximately 8 games.

10 - 12U Major Division - SOFTBALL
For Players 10-12 Years of Age
The Major division allows players the chance to continue fine-tuning their techniques and skills. This Major division is played under the same rules and guidelines as the Softball Little League World Series that is played each summer. Each game will be officiated by two umpires. Teams play approximately 12 regular season games in the spring and consist of 11-12 players. Game schedules involve inter-league play.  The fall season will play approximately 8 games.

13/14U Junior Division - SOFTBALL
For Players 13-14 Years of Age
For the older, more experienced player, the Junior division teams consist of 12-15 players. Availability of this division is subject to demand. Game schedules involve inter-league play.


SOFTBALL RULES

We will follow the Little League International rules for softball.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT

For Spring Registration, players MUST live within or attend a school located within the boundaries set out by Little League International for Plymouth-Canton Little League. This encompasses MOST of Plymouth and Canton addresses and some Westland and Garden City addresses, we are heading North to some Northville addresses. This requirement DOES NOT apply for Fall Registration.
